The Broken Road

The Broken Road,

Is all it feels like – a load.

Looking to offload,

but like a Toad,

the hops never lead to an abode.

Live with heart,

Yet it feels like hurt,

When the heart is hurt,

When the bold heart,

Sits in dirt.

For a moment the fight calls,

But the next you watch as it falls,

As the chosen one it calls,

And you build a wall,

never having the capacity for the call.

How long?

The nights are long.

The Magic’s gone for too long.

Maybe the day for which you long.

To you one day will belong.
