Desolate Denial

He glares into the night sky
A dark illusion it heavily holds
The glaring stars pierce his eyes
They’ve seen the days of his old

He lies under the night sky cloak
Hoping it can hide the ghostly chills
He has a big heart, devoid of love
Behold the moon how minute he is

A man with hope but no purpose
A distraught ship caught in the tide
A dark spell cast on a summer flower
A life filled with scars, he can no more hide

The final hour darkness will engulf
The sacrifice today will define the future
He’ll have to choose a definite turf
It’s time for the boy to finally mature
